Co-management Board Members Needed for Pituamkek National Park Reserve and for PEI National Park and Parks Canada-administered National Historic Sites
Are you passionate about conservation, cultural heritage, and community leadership? L’nuey and Parks Canada are seeking dedicated individuals to join two newly established co-management boards to help shape the future of PEI’s protected lands and sites.
Boards in Focus
PEI National Park and Parks Canada-administered National Historic Sites (NHS): This includes iconic areas such as: Cavendish-North Rustico, Brackley-Dalvay, Greenwich, and French River, along with Dalvay-by-the-Sea NHS, Ardgowan NHS, Skmaqn—Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst NHS, Province House NHS, and Green Gables Heritage Place.
Pituamkek National Park Reserve (Bee-doo-um-gek): A newly protected area of deep ecological and cultural importance, Pituamkek represents a commitment to ecological integrity, cultural preservation, and visitor engagement under the Pituamkek National Park Reserve Establishment Agreement.
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities

- Management planning for parks and sites.
- Incorporating Mi’kmaw culture, and heritage.
- Supporting ecological and cultural integrity.
- Promoting economic and employment opportunities for the Epekwitnewaq Mi’kmaq.
Chair positions are also available, with additional leadership responsibilities.

*An understanding of Mi’kmaw culture and traditions is an asset but not a requirement.
